UDCs - Beckington, Road (Rode)

Here are four envelopes, each with Beckington and Road UDC handstamps (except the last which has a Beckington double-arc dated handstamp).  The first three each have a serif-type Beckington UDC in blue and a Road UDC in black, starting with October 1852 ...

...November 1855 ...

... January 1856.

This last sheet has two further examples of the Road UDC - I'm not sure what colour the top one is.

Offices under Bath - Road (Rode), Sparkford

"Road" came under Bath by 1855 and was renamed "Rode" in 1919.  It transferred to Frome in 2001.  This first sheet has items from March 1891 and August 1906.

Here is a registered item from May 1917 - it appears as if it may have come under Frome at the time ?

Sparkford came under Bath until it transferred to Yeovil in 1925.  Here is an item from December 1898.

UDCs: Queen Camel, Road (Rode), Whiddon Cross (Wheddon Cross), Williton

The entire below is from Queen Camel to Castle Cary in January 1845, redirected back to Queen Camel, and among other things has a "QUEEN CAMEL" undated circular handstamp.  Queen Camel is in the Post Office lists of 1844-1857 as Post Office number "703".  According to Parmenter 1844-type Numeric Obliterator cancels are known from June 1844 to March 1847.

Next we have an example of the UDC from ROAD (aka Rode) from May 1859.

And then an undated circular handstamp for "WHIDDON CROSS", later known as Wheddon Cross, also showing a UDC for Dunster on the reverse.

And finally an undated circular handstamp for "WILLITON" in red.
