Bagborough Skeleton 14th September 1908

The "BAGBOROUGH / TAUNTON" skeleton below was previously ony known used on 10th August 1908 - this example is dated 14th September 1908.  It appears to be the same skeleton so one assumes that it was in use in the intervening period.

The postcard depicts one of the Great Western Channel Islands fleet.

I do have another example of this skeleton but it is only dated August, no day of the month.

The two cancels match well when cleaned up.

 

Bagborough UDC 1856, 1857

Bagborough was issued a UDC in June 1852 under Taunton.  The following two covers display the earliest and latest examples currently recorded.

The second example is also a Ship Letter, with a partial "SHIP LETTER / FREE / GEELONG .VICTORIA" handstamp, with contents relating to the sale of sheep, farming equipment and land.

Skeletons - Ashwick Camp/Tiverton, Bagborough, Castle Cary

The next few posts will show some more examples of Skeleton cancels that I have acquired since I last posted on Skeletons (there may be some that are different examples of skeletons that I already blogged).

First Ashwick Camp under Tiverton from May 1909 (there is also an Ashwick Camp under Dulverton skeleton from 1914 but I do not yet have an example).

Next is Bagborough under Taunton from August 1908 - the day of the month is not visible but should be the 10th August as that is the only date that the cancel is known.

And thirdly a Castle Cary skeleton from June 1914.
