"Buy National War Bonds"
During WW I, in 1917-18, the Post Office finally allowed Slogan cancellations, exhorting people to buy National War Bonds. The cancels were done using a continuous impression Krag machine.
These cancels were withdrawn on the cessation of hostilities.
